events at Blackthorn Game Center. All events
are scheduled as posted. However, please
be aware that if the turn-out for any event
is too low,we reserve the right to cancel
the event. We cannot control the fact that
people decide not to show up, don't wake
up in time, get sick, have to mow the lawn,
get grounded, or are just lazy. The majority
of the time all things go well and the events
run as planned. But hey, stuff happens...so
don't get mad at us.

which you can use to
upgrade your forces!

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl DS Tournament
Time: 12:00 noon
Location: Blackthorn Game Center
Entrance Fee: $1.00
Prize: A custom trophy will be awarded to
the Champion of the tournament.
Pokemon Diamond & Pearl DS Tourney Rules
Pokemon Tournament Eligibility:
Each player must bring a functioning Nintendo
DS game system, a DS charger, and a Pokemon
Diamond or Pokemon Pearl game cartridge.
The game must be saved at a Pokemon Center.
All Pokemon in a player’s party must be within
the level range posted for the tournament.
(See Tournament Divisions)
No hacking or cheating is allowed. Anyone
caught playing with an altered game will
be immediately disqualified. Repeat offenses
will result in a player being banned from
all tournaments.
Tournament Division:
Poke Cup – Pokemon up to level 25 may be used.
Blackthorn Gamecenter reserves the right
to add new divisions as it sees fit.
Tournament Structure:
Tournaments are 3 rounds of swiss, with cut
to the top two for the finals (everyone will
play against 3 players if there are an even
amount of players.)
Match Rules:
Once pairings are announced each round, a
player will have five minutes to find his
opponent and setup for his match. If a player
does not show up within the allotted time,
he forfeits the match.
Once the five minute setup time has elapsed,
the round will begin. The players will now
have 15 minutes to play their matches.
Players are allowed a max of thirty seconds
per move. Excessive stalling will result
in disqualification.
If a player’s DS loses power or breaks during
a match, that player automatically loses
the round.
When the 15 minute time limit is reached,
all players may take one final action. After
these final actions are resolved, the player
with the most remaining Pokemon is the victor.
If both players have an equal number of Pokemon
remaining, then the game goes into Sudden
Death.
In Sudden Death, players must continue their
game until the first Pokemon is knocked out.
The player with the most remaining Pokemon
at this point is declared the victor.
Attack Moves / Status Changes:
Players may not cause two or more Pokémon
on the same team to be affected by the Sleep
Special Condition
Players may not cause two or more Pokémon
on the same team to be affected by the Freeze
Special Condition
User will lose if all Pokémon faint due to
“Self Destruct” or “Explosion”.
A player may not use “Self Destruct” or “Explosion”
during a game that has entered Sudden Death.
Destiny Bond and Perish Song may not be used
by the final Pokémon on a team.
A player may not use Destiny Bond and Perish
Song during a game that has entered Sudden
Death.
Anyone using games altered with so-called
"game enhancers" (to give Pokémon
moves they cannot legally learn or stats
that are higher than legally possible, among
other things) will be disqualified.
